COVID-19 Response Lakeland Animal Clinic

Effective January 5, 2022

To our valued Lakeland Animal Clinic Clients and Patients,

Due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in Polk County over the past few weeks, our lobby will remain closed and we have moved to carside and drop-off appointments only.

If there is an emergency and you are entering the building with your pet a face-covering or mask is required.

We will continue monitoring the case numbers and our COVID response plan will be updated as needed to meet the developing situation of the pandemic. Positivity rates will be measured weekly based on the information provided by USA FACTS.

Our Check-In and Exam Process:

  • Park and call from your vehicle when you arrive to check-in for your appointment.
  • Remain in your vehicle with your pet until you have spoken to a technician or a technician comes to get your pet for their appointment.
  • With our carside care, the veterinarian and healthcare team will complete a complete physical examination of your pet and update you via telephone on your pet’s status. The veterinarian will discuss necessary diagnostics and a treatment plan moving forward. Verbal consent for treatment and details surrounding financial costs will be authorized via this phone call. Updates will be given regularly via phone by your healthcare team.
  • As our lobby is closed at this time, we ask that you wait in your vehicle until any additional tests or services are being completed.
  • Once the care of your pet is completed, the discharge process will be discussed.

Drop Off Appointments

  • Updates will be given regularly during your pet's visit via phone by your healthcare team.
  • Once the care of your pet is completed, your healthcare team will contact you with an update and a time for pick up.
  • Either via phone or upon your arrival to pick up your pet, the discharge process will be discussed and completed.

With Gratitude

We appreciate your patience and understanding with our updated COVID plan as we work to have a safe environment and meet our obligation as an essential service to the community. We are grateful for your trust and confidence in us and feel a strong sense of duty and commitment to help you be your pet’s hero.
